Heat Control Window Film

By: heatshieldwindowfilms
One of the main things about having a home in California is proper insulation, not to keep the heat in, but to keep it out. Insulating your home properly is part of the job, of course, but a lot of people totally neglect that you can make a pretty big difference (and save a bit on your AC bill) by installing heat shield window film.

With quality heat control film, you can effectively reduce the heat coming into your home from the harsh California sun by a pretty significant percentage. You don’t even need to have the windows tinted to accomplish this, as there are many solar control films on the market which bloc k excessive solar heat without blocking any
visible light at all.

Of course, if you want to save yourself some headaches a bit later on down the road, you’ll want to take a moment and consider everything you need before buying a single piece of window film. If you get solar control film and then later realize “Oh hey, I should’ve got UV film, too!”, then you’ve got to figure out how to peel all that stuff off.

If you know what you’re doing it’s possible to apply window film yourself, but even for experts, removing window film is a pain and a half. If you ever see a car driving around with a bunch of scraped up windows, like somebody literally took a paint scraper to it, well, that’s what happens when you remove window film yourself.

So before wasting any time and money on a piece of window film that only gets part of the job done, remember the main things you’re probably going to need living in California; UV blocking and heat control. Then you’ll want to consider what you don’t necessarily need, but might want. Home window tinting? Privacy windows? It’s much smarter to get a one-in-all film right off the bat so you don’t have to worry about peeling and reapplying later.

If you live in California, we don’t really need to explain to you the dangers of excessive sun exposure, as, no doubt, you’ve been hearing all about for years. We’ll just say that the threat really is not exaggerated in the least. If you spend hours in the sun every day without proper protection, you do run a high risk of rapid aging skin and even skin cancer. Of course, you need some degree of sun exposure or you won’t get much vitamin D, and without vitamin D, you can’t absorb calcium very well. What window treatment does is simply allow you to control how much sun you’re getting in a day.

And you know, this is worth noting... In every state, there are different safety laws regarding how much visible light you’re allowed to block with automotive window tinting. California allows drivers to block up to seventy percent of light, while every other state averages around 30%. That should go to show just how important it is to protect yourself from the California sun.
